Who We Are
KW Pulse operates this website. Our current website address is https://melissa.curacomputers.com. We may later operate from https://kwpulse.ca, https://kwpulse.com, or another official KW Pulse domain. For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, contact us at [email protected]. KW Pulse is based in Ontario, Canada. Canadian private-sector privacy obligations may include the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), depending on the nature of the activity. Ontario notes that private-sector privacy may be protected under PIPEDA.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
– information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, website, comment content, or future newsletter signup information;
– technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps;
– administrator login information for authorized site administrators and editors;
– information collected through cookies or similar technologies.
Comments
If comments are enabled and you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection and site security. An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After comment approval, your profile picture may be visible publicly in the context of your comment. Comments may be reviewed manually and may also be checked by an automated spam detection service if one is enabled.
User Accounts and Logins
Public user registration is not currently intended. Only authorized administrators or editors are expected to log into the website. For authorized users, WordPress stores profile information and uses login cookies to manage authenticated sessions and screen preferences.
Media
Visitors are not currently expected to upload media to the website. If media uploads are enabled in the future, users should avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data, such as EXIF GPS data. Visitors may be able to download and extract location data from public images.
Cookies
The website may use cookies for normal WordPress functionality, including login sessions, comment convenience settings, editor preferences, and security. If comments are enabled and you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for convenience and may last for one year. If an authorized user visits the login page, WordPress may set a temporary cookie to determine whether the browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser closes. When an authorized user logs in, WordPress sets cookies to save login information and screen display choices. Login cookies generally last two days, screen option cookies may last one year, and “Remember Me” login cookies may last two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies. If an authorized user edits or publishes content, WordPress may save a cookie indicating the post ID of the edited article. This cookie contains no personal data and expires after one day.
Instagram and Embedded Third-Party Content
KW Pulse displays Instagram content from the KW Pulse Instagram account, currently @kwpulse. Instagram content and links are provided through Meta/Instagram services. When you view or interact with Instagram content, click through to Instagram, or are logged into an Instagram or Meta account, Meta may collect information about your interaction according to its own privacy policy and terms. Articles or pages may also include embedded content from other websites, such as videos, images, posts, maps, or articles. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the third-party website directly. Those third parties may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.
Analytics
KW Pulse does not currently use analytics tracking. We may add Google Analytics or a similar analytics service in the future to understand website traffic and improve the site. If analytics are enabled, the provider may collect information such as pages visited, device and browser information, approximate location, referral source, and interaction data. We will use analytics information in aggregated or statistical form where practical.
Newsletter and Communications
KW Pulse does not currently operate a newsletter signup. If a newsletter is added in the future, we may collect your email address and related signup information to send updates. You will be able to unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter emails using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those messages or by contacting us.
How We Use Information
We may use collected information to:
– operate and maintain the website;
– publish and manage comments, if enabled;
– respond to messages or privacy requests;
– protect the website from spam, abuse, and unauthorized access;
– understand and improve website performance and content;
– send newsletter communications, if you subscribe in the future;
– comply with legal, administrative, or security obligations.
Who We Share Information With
We do not sell personal information. We may share or disclose information with service providers that help operate the website, such as website hosting providers, WordPress-related services, email providers, analytics providers if enabled, spam/security services if enabled, and embedded content providers. If you request a password reset as an authorized user, your IP address may be included in the reset email. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to investigate misuse of the website, or to protect the security of the site and its users.
How Long We Retain Information
If comments are enabled and you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically instead of being held in moderation. For authorized users with accounts, WordPress stores personal information provided in the user profile. Authorized users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except they cannot change their username. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Technical logs and security records may be retained for a reasonable period for operational, security, and troubleshooting purposes. Newsletter records, if newsletters are enabled, may be retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to any legal or administrative requirements.
Your Privacy Rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to legal, administrative, and security exceptions. If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required or permitted to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Contact: [email protected]
Where Information Is Processed
Website information may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other locations where our hosting providers, WordPress-related providers, analytics providers, email providers, or embedded content providers operate. Third-party providers process information according to their own privacy policies.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the website. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
KW Pulse is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
